Infrastructure Operations Engineer – 8+ Years
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Operations Engineer with 8+ years of experience to manage and support enterprise infrastructure environments. The role will be responsible for the administration, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, security, and availability of core infrastructure services including Active Directory, Windows/Linux servers, virtualization, storage, backup and recovery, patch management, and related infrastructure platforms.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in Infrastructure Operations, AD, Windows/Linux administration, VMware/Hyper-V, storage, backup, DR, patching, and enterprise ITIL processes.
Key Responsibilities
1. Identity & Core Infrastructure
- Administer and support Active Directory (AD), Domain Controllers, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, NTP, and Group Policy.
- Troubleshoot AD replication, authentication, authorization, DNS, and Group Policy issues.
- Manage user, computer, and service accounts, including identity lifecycle and Joiner-Mover-Leaver (JML) processes.
- Administer and support PKI / Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS).
- Support Privileged Access Management (PAM) solutions and privileged account controls.
- Ensure identity and core infrastructure services meet security, availability, and compliance requirements.
2. Windows & Linux Server Administration
- Administer Windows and Linux server environments across enterprise infrastructure.
- Perform server provisioning, configuration, upgrades, patching, hardening, and decommissioning.
- Support application server infrastructure and troubleshoot OS-level issues.
- Monitor server availability, capacity, health, and performance.
- Perform routine maintenance, health checks, and operational activities.
- Implement security configurations and OS hardening in line with organizational standards.
3. Virtualization & Storage
- Administer VMware and/or Microsoft Hyper-V environments.
- Manage VM provisioning, configuration, migration, capacity, and lifecycle management.
- Support virtualization clusters, High Availability (HA), and related infrastructure components.
- Administer SAN/NAS storage environments.
- Perform storage provisioning, capacity planning, monitoring, and performance optimization.
- Troubleshoot virtualization, storage, and connectivity-related issues.
4. Backup, Recovery & Disaster Recovery
- Administer and monitor enterprise backup and recovery platforms.
- Monitor backup jobs, investigate failures, and ensure successful backup completion.
- Perform restore operations, restore testing, and recovery validation.
- Manage backup retention, schedules, and recovery activities.
- Support Disaster Recovery (DR) operations, testing, and recovery procedures.
- Maintain backup, recovery, and DR documentation and operational procedures.
5. Patch & Vulnerability Management
- Plan and execute monthly, emergency, and security patch deployments across Windows/Linux environments.
- Coordinate vulnerability remediation activities with Security and Infrastructure teams.
- Validate patch deployment and resolve post-patching issues.
- Track patch compliance and vulnerability remediation status.
- Prepare patching, backup, recovery, and compliance reports.
6. Infrastructure Operations & Monitoring
- Monitor infrastructure availability, health, performance, and capacity.
- Investigate and resolve infrastructure incidents and service requests within agreed SLA/OLA.
- Participate in Incident, Problem, Change, and Request Management processes.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring or major infrastructure issues.
- Participate in planned maintenance, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure changes.
- Coordinate with Network, Security, Cloud, Application, and Vendor teams.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation, knowledge articles, SOPs, and operational procedures.
