Job Summary
The Sports Instructor in the Department of Student Welfare (DSW) will be responsible for planning,conducting, and managing sports activities, physical fitness programs, recreational initiatives, and student wellness activities within the institution. The role focuses on promoting physical fitness, student engagement, teamwork, discipline, and holistic student development through sports and wellness initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess strong coaching, organizational, and coordination skills, along with the ability to motivate students and foster a positive sports culture on campus.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, Sports Management, or a related field.
Relevant coaching certifications and prior experience in sports training, physical fitness instruction, or institutional sports management will be preferred.
Key Responsibilities
A. Sports Training & Student Development
- Conduct regular sports coaching sessions, fitness training, and wellness actvities for students.
- Train and mentor students in indoor and outdoor sports activities assigned by the institution.
- Encourage active participation in sports, fitness initiatives, recreational activities, and wellness programs.
- Identify talented students and guide them for inter-college, university-level, and external sports competitions.
- Promote discipline, teamwork, leadership, resilience, and sportsmanship among students.
- Monitor student progress, performance, attendance, and participation in sports activities.
- Motivate students toward maintaining physical fitness and healthy lifestyle practices.
B. Sports Event Management
- Plan, organize, and execute intra-college and inter-college sports tournaments, competitions, and recreational events.
- Coordinate annual sports events, wellness drives, fitness campaigns, and student engagement activities.
- Manage scheduling of practice sessions, tournaments, training camps, and sports-related activities.
- Coordinate logistics, venue arrangements, registrations, and operational support for sports events.
- Ensure smooth execution and discipline during institutional sports and wellness activities.
C. Facility & Equipment Management
- Ensure proper maintenance, cleanliness, and safe usage of sports facilities and equipment.
- Maintain inventory records of sports kits, materials, and equipment.
- Report damaged, missing, or outdated equipment and coordinate timely repairs or replacements.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and institutional guidelines during all sports activities.
- Conduct regular inspections of sports facilities to ensure operational readiness and safety compliance.
D. Student Welfare & Coordination
- Work closely with the Student Welfare Department to support student engagement and wellness initiatives.
- Support institutional activities promoting physical, emotional, and mental well-being of students.
- Maintain attendance records, participation reports, and performance documentation related to sports activities.
- Coordinate with faculty members, administration, external coaches, and agencies for sports- related programs and competitions.
- Provide basic first-response assistance in case of sports injuries or emergencies and ensure timely escalation when required.
- Assist in promoting a healthy, inclusive, and student-friendly campus environment.
Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹45,000.00 per month
