Job Summary:
The Part-Time Consultant Oncologist is responsible for diagnosing, evaluating, and managing patients with cancer. The consultant provides expert clinical care, develops individualized treatment plans, collaborates with multidisciplinary teams, and ensures high standards of patient care during scheduled consultation hours.
Key Responsibilities:
* Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with various types of cancer.
* Develop individualized treatment plans, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and supportive care, as applicable.
* Conduct outpatient consultations and inpatient rounds during scheduled visits.
* Interpret diagnostic investigations, including pathology and imaging reports.
* Coordinate care with surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists.
* Counsel patients and their families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, prognosis, and follow-up care.
* Monitor treatment response and manage therapy-related complications.
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation and medical records.
* Participate in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings and case discussions, where applicable.
* Ensure compliance with hospital policies, NABH standards, and ethical medical practices.
* Provide emergency consultation during scheduled availability or as mutually agreed.
Required Qualifications:
* DM/DNB Medical Oncology, MCh/DNB Surgical Oncology, or DM/DNB Radiation Oncology (as applicable to the role).
* Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC) / State Medical Council.
* Minimum 2–3 years of post-qualification experience in oncology (preferred).
* Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication and patient counseling abilities.
Preferred Skills:
* Experience in multidisciplinary cancer care.
* Familiarity with NABH standards and clinical quality protocols.
* Ability to work collaboratively with healthcare teams.
* Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care.
Pay: ₹120,000.00 - ₹150,000.00 per year
