We are seeking a skilled and responsible Blood Bank Technician to manage blood bank operations including blood collection, testing, processing, storage, and issue of blood and blood components. The candidate will ensure adherence to quality standards and regulatory guidelines while supporting clinicians in safe transfusion practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform blood grouping, cross-matching, and compatibility testing.
- Handle collection, labeling, processing, storage, and issue of blood and blood components.
- Maintain proper inventory of blood units and components.
- Ensure accurate documentation and record keeping as per regulatory requirements.
- Conduct screening tests for transfusion-transmitted infections as per protocols.
- Maintain and operate blood bank equipment and analyzers.
- Follow quality control procedures and NABH / regulatory guidelines.
- Ensure proper storage conditions and temperature monitoring for blood products.
- Coordinate with doctors, nursing staff, and laboratory team for blood requisitions.
- Ensure infection control and safety protocols in the blood bank.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Qualification:
- DMLT / BMLT / Diploma in Blood Bank Technology or equivalent qualification from a recognized institute.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years or above experience in a Blood Bank / Transfusion Medicine department preferred.
- Skills Required:
- Knowledge of blood bank procedures and equipment
- Good documentation and reporting skills
- Ability to work in shifts
- Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards
Salary:
As per hospital norms and candidate experience.
