About Kinemach
Kinemach is a manufacturing technology and solutions company that designs and builds automation systems and special-purpose machines — including assembly automation lines, rotary and linear indexing systems, robotic material handling, process equipment, packaging machinery, and inspection systems — for customers across automotive, pharmaceutical, food processing, steel, electronics, and rubber & plastics industries. Our work is guided by punctuality, integrity, professional competence, and social responsibility.
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our machine-building team at our Pune facility. This role is focused on the assembly of new special-purpose machines and automation systems — not routine plant maintenance. The successful candidate will build mechanical assemblies and complete machines from engineering drawings, working closely with design, electrical, and quality teams from fabrication through to final commissioning at the customer site.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret GA drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs to build mechanical sub-assemblies and complete machines from scratch.
- Assemble structural frames, indexing tables, conveyors, gantries, pneumatic manipulators,Hydraulic systems and other automation mechanisms to specified tolerances.
- Fit and align precision components — bearings, shafts, gearboxes, cams, linear guides, ball screws — using appropriate hand and power tools.
- Carry out trial assembly, fitment checks, and functional testing of new machines before dispatch or installation.
- Coordinate with the design and electrical/automation teams to resolve fitment issues and incorporate drawing revisions during the build.
- Support installation, alignment, and commissioning of machines at customer sites across India and abroad, including troubleshooting during trial runs.
- Use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, vernier calipers, dial gauges) to verify dimensional accuracy of fitted components.
- Carry out minor welding, fitting, drilling, and fabrication tasks to support the assembly process.
- Maintain build logs, job cards, and fitment/quality records for each machine.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures, including correct use of PPE and safe handling of components during assembly.
- Flag design or fitment improvements observed during the build process to the engineering team.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Fitter trade certification (NCVT/SCVT), or equivalent qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Fitter in machine building, special-purpose machinery, or automation equipment manufacturing (experience in plant maintenance alone is not a substitute).
- Strong ability to read and work from engineering/GA drawings and BOMs.
- Hands-on experience assembling mechanical systems such as indexing units, conveyors, robotic arms, or pneumatic/hydraulic assemblies.
- Proficiency with fitting, measuring, and precision hand/power tools.
- Basic welding and fabrication skills preferred.
- Willingness to travel pan-India and internationally for on-site machine installation and commissioning as needed.
- Valid passport (or willingness to obtain one) for international site visits.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail when working to tight tolerances.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a build team, including flexibility on shifts near project deadlines.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Attributes
- Prior experience with special-purpose machines (SPM), assembly automation, or robotics-based systems.
- Exposure to pneumatics, servo-driven mechanisms, or vision-based inspection systems.
- Experience supporting first-time builds / prototype machines, not just repeat production.
Physical Requirements
This role involves regular physical activity including standing, bending, lifting (up to 25 kg), and working on the shop floor during machine assembly, along with travel for on-site installation and commissioning at customer locations across India and overseas. Use of appropriate PPE (safety shoes, gloves, goggles, helmet) is mandatory at all times.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: as per Market standards
- Benefits — PF, ESI, medical insurance
