About the Role
Meena Gurnam is looking for a talented, creative and commercially focused Senior Fashion Designer to join our design team and contribute to the development of distinctive collections for the brand.
Key Responsibilities
- Research trends and develop original concepts, mood boards, colour stories and collection range plans
- Design premium Indian ethnic and occasion wear while maintaining the distinctive identity of Meena Gurnam
- Develop innovative silhouettes, fabric combinations, embroidery concepts, swatches and detailed design sketches
- Manage the complete design process from concept and sampling to fittings, corrections and final approval
- Work closely with masters, pattern makers, embroidery teams, merchandisers and production teams
- Create commercially viable and production-friendly designs within the assigned price range and timeline
- Maintain consistency in design language, quality, fitting and finishing across every collection
Candidate Requirements
- 6–10 years of relevant experience in premium women’s ethnic, occasion or designer wear
- Strong portfolio demonstrating complete collections, not only individual sketches
- Excellent knowledge of fabrics, embroideries, garment construction, fitting and finishing
- Strong creative vision with a good understanding of commercial fashion
- Proficiency in fashion illustration, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and technical design documentation
- Strong communication, coordination and team-working skills
- Degree or diploma in Fashion Design from a recognised institute preferred
