As part of our expansion plans, we are looking for an experienced and dynamic Senior Production Engineer who can take ownership of shop floor operations and lead production activities from raw material stage to dispatch.

JOB PURPOSE
The Production Engineer will be responsible for planning, coordinating, monitoring, and controlling all fabrication activities within the manufacturing facility while ensuring:
- Timely production completion
- Optimum machine utilization
- Maximum manpower productivity
- High-quality fabrication standards
- Safe working environment
- On-time project dispatch
The role demands strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and practical shop-floor experience.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES1. Production Planning & Execution
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules.
- Monitor project-wise fabrication progress.
- Ensure achievement of production targets as per committed delivery schedules.
- Coordinate with PPC department for production sequencing.
- Ensure smooth material movement between departments.
- Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production efficiency and improve throughput.
- Ensure adherence to dispatch timelines.
2. Raw Material & Cutting Operations
- Monitor receipt and utilization of plates, sections, and coils.
- Supervise CNC Plasma Cutting operations.
- Ensure cutting is performed as per approved nesting plans.
- Minimize cutting wastage and improve material yield.
- Verify cut component identification and traceability.
- Coordinate with stores for material availability.
3. Built-Up Beam Manufacturing
- Supervise complete built-up beam production process.
- Monitor fit-up quality before welding.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy of fabricated members.
- Verify web and flange alignment.
- Control camber and straightness parameters.
- Ensure compliance with approved fabrication drawings.
4. Fabrication Shop Management
Responsible for supervision of:
- Columns
- Rafters
- Crane Beams
- Mezzanine Structures
- Bracings
- Base Plates
- Connection Plates
- Staircases
- Platforms
- Pipe Supports
- Secondary Steel Members
Ensure all fabrication activities meet project specifications and quality standards.
5. Welding Control
- Monitor welding activities throughout production.
- Ensure proper welding procedures are followed.
- Verify welding consumables usage.
- Coordinate welding inspections.
- Reduce welding defects and repair work.
- Improve welding productivity and quality.
- Ensure welders follow approved standards.
6. Drilling, Punching & Assembly
- Supervise drilling and punching operations.
- Ensure hole accuracy and alignment.
- Verify assembly dimensions before final release.
- Ensure bolt-hole matching and fitment quality.
- Minimize assembly-related rework.
7. Finishing & Dispatch Readiness
- Monitor grinding and finishing activities.
- Ensure removal of fabrication defects.
- Verify member marking and identification.
- Ensure components are dispatch-ready.
- Coordinate loading and dispatch activities.
- Maintain project-wise dispatch records.
8. Quality Management
- Work closely with QA/QC team.
- Ensure stage-wise inspections are conducted.
- Maintain fabrication quality standards.
- Minimize rejection and rework percentage.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Maintain quality documentation and records.
9. Manpower Management
- Lead a team of:
- Welders
- Fitters
- Operators
- Helpers
- Supervisors
- Contractors
- Allocate manpower according to production priorities.
- Monitor workforce productivity.
- Conduct daily toolbox meetings.
- Maintain discipline and work culture.
- Train and guide junior engineers and supervisors.
10. Safety & Compliance
- Ensure safe working practices across the facility.
- Enforce PPE compliance.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
- Report unsafe conditions immediately.
- Promote zero-accident work culture.
