Job Description:
As a Nuclear Medicine Technician at Manipal Hospitals, you will play a vital role in the medical imaging team by performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radioactive materials. You will also be responsible for monitoring patient reactions, maintaining accurate records of procedures, and collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and administer radioactive materials for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Conduct imaging procedures using gamma cameras and other imaging equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
- Monitor and evaluate patient reactions to radioactive substances and imaging procedures.
- Maintain accurate documentation of procedures, including doses administered and imaging results.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging findings and patient care.
- Perform quality control on imaging equipment to ensure proper functioning.
- Assist in educating patients about procedures and safety measures.
Skills and Tools Required:
- Strong knowledge of nuclear medicine principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment such as gamma cameras and PET/CT scanners.
- Understanding of radiation safety protocols and regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction and teamwork.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret imaging results.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor?s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or a related field.
- Certification from a recognized professional body such as the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or equivalent.
- Relevant clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in nuclear medicine.
