Job Summary
The Database Admin works closely with key members of the Infrastructure and Application Delivery teams to support and administer the database environment. A successful candidate will have experience supporting day-to-day operations of the Microsoft SQL stack in an enterprise environment
Key Responsibilities
Monitor database performance and health in on-premises and cloud environments\\r\\n• Respond to system-generated alerts for failed database jobs and deployments\\r\\n• Peer review database scripts for industry best practices and Polaris standards\\r\\n• Perform database backups & restores as requested\\r\\n• Resolve user-submitted requests for access, deployment, and troubleshooting assistance\\r\\n• Provision and configure databases in accordance with established enterprise standards\\r\\n
Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent required\\r\\n• 3-6 years of experience in Database Administration in an enterprise environment\\r\\nRequired Skills & Knowledge: \\r\\n• Experience maintaining and configuring Microsoft SQL Server 2019 and higher\\r\\n• Experience with Microsoft SSIS, SSAS, and SSRS technologies\\r\\n• Familiarity with common database performance metrics & tuning practices\\r\\n• Ability to troubleshoot failed SSIS packages in partnership with development teams\\r\\n• Strong problem solving and analytical skills\\r\\n• Strong written and verbal communication skills\\r\\n• Demonstrated ability to work with little supervision and complete tasks in a timely manner\\r\\nPreferred Skills & Knowledge: \\r\\n• Experience working with ServiceNow for Incident and Change management\\r\\n• Experience with code deployment\\r\\n• Familiarity with Azure DevOps, Visual Studio, GitHub \\r\\n• Experience working with cloud database technologies – including Azure SQL Database, Azure Data Factory, Azure Cosmos DB, or equivalent\\r\\n• Experience working with the Rubrik backup solution for databases\\r\\n• Familiarity with high-availability solutions such as Always On and Log Shipping\\r\\n• Strong scripting and automation skills\\r\\n
