The Stores & Vendor Manager will be responsible for managing all store activities, inventory control, material availability, supplier relationships, vendor performance, and procurement coordination. The role requires ensuring uninterrupted production through effective material management while optimizing inventory levels, costs, and supplier performance.

Stores & Inventory Management
- Manage all inward and outward material movements within the plant.
- Ensure accurate receipt, storage, identification, and issue of raw materials, consumables, tooling, casting, forging, and finished goods.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production requirements.
- Implement FIFO/FEFO practices and inventory control procedures.
- Conduct periodic stock audits, cycle counts, and annual physical verification.
- Monitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory and initiate corrective actions.
- Ensure proper storage conditions and warehouse organization.
Vendor Management
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop suppliers for machining, casting, forging, tooling, consumables, and indirect materials.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key vendors.
- Monitor supplier performance based on quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
- Conduct periodic vendor reviews and supplier audits.
- Develop alternate sources to reduce supply risks and improve procurement flexibility.
- Support negotiations for pricing, payment terms, and service agreements.
Procurement Coordination
- Coordinate with procurement and production teams for material planning and availability.
- Track purchase orders and ensure timely deliveries.
- Monitor supplier lead times and proactively address delays.
- Support cost reduction and value engineering initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with approved procurement procedures.
Production Support
- Coordinate closely with CNC, VMC, and HMC production teams to ensure uninterrupted material supply.
- Monitor consumption trends and forecast future requirements.
- Ensure availability of cutting tools, inserts, fixtures, consumables, castings, forgings, and production materials.
Documentation & ERP Management
- Maintain accurate inventory and vendor records in ERP/MRP systems.
- Generate inventory, stock valuation, vendor performance, and procurement reports.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, quality, and audit requirements.
- Maintain documentation related to GRNs, stock transfers, issue slips, and supplier records.
Continuous Improvement
- Drive inventory optimization initiatives.
- Improve warehouse efficiency and material handling processes.
- Implement best practices in stores management and supplier development.
- Support Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and continuous improvement activities.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
- 5–12 years of experience in stores, inventory management, vendor management, or supply chain functions within machining, casting, forging, automotive, engineering, or manufacturing industries.
- Strong understanding of CNC, VMC, HMC machining environments and manufacturing materials.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Tally, Busy, or equivalent).
- Knowledge of inventory control techniques and supplier management.
