Job Summary
We are looking for a skilled and customer-focused Field IT Hardware Service Engineer to provide on-site technical support, installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair services for computers, workstations, servers, networking equipment, and other IT hardware. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on troubleshooting skills, good customer communication abilities, and the flexibility to travel to customer locations as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Visit customer locations to diagnose and resolve IT hardware and system-related issues.
- Install, configure, upgrade, maintain, and repair desktop computers, workstations, laptops, servers, and related IT equipment.
- Troubleshoot hardware failures involving motherboards, CPUs, RAM, GPUs, storage devices, power supplies, cooling systems, and peripherals.
- Perform hardware replacement, upgrades, component-level troubleshooting, and system optimization.
- Install and configure operating systems, drivers, firmware, BIOS/UEFI, and required software.
- Diagnose and resolve system performance, booting, overheating, connectivity, and compatibility issues.
- Provide technical support for printers, monitors, UPS systems, and other IT peripherals.
- Perform preventive maintenance and health checks of IT systems at customer locations.
- Handle system installation, relocation, commissioning, and decommissioning activities.
- Assist with basic network troubleshooting, including LAN connectivity, switches, routers, Wi-Fi, and structured cabling issues.
- Conduct hardware diagnostics and testing using appropriate tools and methods.
- Coordinate with internal service, helpdesk, sales, and technical teams to ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
- Maintain accurate service reports, job sheets, service tickets, and records of parts replaced or issued.
- Record and verify serial numbers and asset details of systems and components during service visits.
- Handle warranty and RMA-related service activities and coordinate defective component replacements.
- Collect faulty components and ensure proper handover to the service/RMA team as per company procedures.
- Ensure all replaced parts and service materials are properly documented and accounted for.
- Explain technical issues and solutions clearly to customers in a professional manner.
- Escalate complex or unresolved issues to senior engineers or the appropriate technical team.
- Follow company service procedures, safety guidelines, ESD precautions, and customer site policies.
- Complete assigned service calls within the agreed service timelines and maintain high customer satisfaction.
- Be available for occasional travel and emergency/on-call support based on business requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Hardware, IT, Electronics, or a related field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in IT hardware service, field support, desktop support, or technical service.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of computer hardware and troubleshooting.
- Experience in assembling, upgrading, repairing, and maintaining desktop PCs and workstations.
- Good knowledge of Windows operating systems, drivers, BIOS/UEFI, and hardware diagnostics.
- Knowledge of basic networking and troubleshooting is preferred.
- Ability to diagnose hardware failures and identify defective components.
- Good understanding of storage devices, RAM, CPUs, GPUs, PSUs, and cooling systems.
- Good communication and customer-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls.
- Willingness to travel to customer locations as required.
- Valid driving license and ability to travel locally is preferred.

Working Conditions:
This is primarily a field-based technical role requiring regular travel to customer locations for installation, troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, and system upgrades. The engineer may be required to work outside normal business hours occasionally based on customer requirements and critical service situations.

Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
