Role Overview
SMSCountry is one of India’s oldest A2P messaging platforms. As we expand our global routing infrastructure, we are looking for a Bulk SMS Routing Manager to take end-to-end ownership of domestic and international SMS delivery.
The role involves optimizing routing performance, improving delivery and margins, and driving direct revenue by commercializing routes through partnerships with aggregators and resellers.
This position is responsible for both the technical efficiency and commercial success of the SMS routing layer.
Job Summary
- Manage SMS routing across domestic and international routes / operator lines
- Ensure smooth message delivery and service continuity on all routes
- Monitor pricing and margins for different routes and operator lines
- Coordinate with vendors and partners for route availability and pricing
- Regularly monitor international lines to identify delivery or quality issues
- Take quick action during route failures or emergency situations
- Ensure uninterrupted SMS services across multiple countries and content types
Key Responsibilities
- Own and optimize end-to-end SMS routing operations (domestic and international) across direct operator and aggregator routes
- Monitor and analyze real-time delivery performance, latency, and DLR behavior across global operators
- Configure, prioritize, and manage high-delivery and high-margin routes based on traffic type (OTP, Promotional, Transactional)
- Build and maintain strong relationships with telecom operators, aggregators, and direct connectivity partners
- Negotiate commercial terms including pricing, volume commitments, and SLAs with vendors and suppliers
- Drive direct revenue by actively commercializing available routes (India, GCC, Africa, and other key regions) to aggregators and resellers
- Own and consistently grow monthly route-sales revenue targets (initially ₹10–25 lakhs per month)
- Establish and manage strategic partnerships with aggregator networks to scale inbound traffic through SMSCountry routes
- Work closely with compliance teams to ensure adherence to DLT (India) and global regulatory requirements
Revenue & Growth Targets
- Achieve route resale revenue of ₹10–25 lakhs per month within the first 3–6 months of engagement
- Onboard and activate 3–5 aggregator clients per month through existing industry relationships
- Maintain healthy gross margins in the range of 20–40% across sold SMS routes
- Identify, evaluate, and scale high-profit traffic corridors (UAE, KSA, Nigeria, Indonesia, and other key markets) for traffic consolidation and growth
Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in SMS routing, aggregator operations, or telecom VAS environments
- Hands-on experience with SMS routing dashboards, delivery testing, and SMPP / API configurations
- Strong understanding of grey routes, tiered routing strategies, and fallback routing mechanisms
- Sound commercial judgment with the ability to balance delivery quality, cost efficiency, and margins
- Proven ability to close deals with aggregators, direct customers, or enterprise resellers
- Established industry network across India, UAE, Africa, and Southeast Asia markets
- Preferred: Experience in building, managing, or enhancing SMS routing portals or dashboards
- Experience in SMS pricing, margin tracking, and preparing MRR reports for management review
- Ability to manage multiple vendors and partner relationships
- Basic analytical and reporting skills (Google Sheets & MS Office)
- Clear communication and good coordination skills
- Ability to handle pressure and respond quickly during emergencies
- Good understanding of global A2P SMS routing and gateway operations
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per year
