1. Job Purpose
To assist in the preparation, production, and presentation of all items in the Sweets/Pastry section while maintaining Brown Town Bakery’s quality, hygiene, and consistency standards.
2. Key Responsibilities
- *Production:* Prepare and produce cakes, pastries, desserts, chocolates, and Indian sweets as per standard recipes and portioning.
- *Quality Control:* Ensure taste, texture, appearance, and freshness meet BTB standards before display/service.
- *Hygiene & Safety:* Follow HACCP guidelines. Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and equipment. Wear full uniform + safety gear.
- *Stock Management:* Check daily inventory of ingredients for Sweets section. Inform CDP/Sous Chef for reordering. Minimize wastage.
- *Team Support:* Assist CDP and Commis in daily prep. Train and guide Commis III/Trainees when required.
- *Display & Garnishing:* Handle finishing, garnishing, and display of dessert counters for café/retail.
- *Innovation:* Suggest new dessert ideas during seasonal menus and festivals.
- *Compliance:* Adhere to FSSAI norms, company SOPs, and opening/closing checklists.
3. Requirements
- *Education:* Diploma/Degree in Bakery & Confectionery / Hotel Management preferred.
- *Experience:* 1–3 years in a bakery, hotel, or QSR pastry kitchen. Experience with Indian sweets is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, chocolate work, and Indian mithai
- Ability to read and follow recipes accurately
- Good sense of plating and aesthetics
- Basic computer skills for stock entries
- *Attributes:* Punctual, detail-oriented, team player, able to work in fast-paced shifts.
4. Working Conditions
- *Location:* Brown Town Bakery, [Outlet Name]
- *Shift:* 9 hours + break, 6 days/week. Rotational shifts including weekends/holidays.
