About Kinemach
Kinemach is a manufacturing technology and solutions company based in Pune, designing and building assembly automation lines, material handling and robotics systems, processing equipment, packaging machinery, and inspection/testing systems for customers across automotive, pharmaceutical, food processing, electronics, and rubber/plastics industries. Our product portfolio includes two specialised brands: Procer Mixing, which manufactures high-shear mixers, homogenizers, and turnkey process plants for the food, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries, built to GMP and precision rotor-stator tolerances; and DynaScrew, which manufactures precision automatic screw-feeding and driving systems used in automotive, electronics, aerospace, and medical-device assembly.
Because our machines are custom-engineered, precision-built, and shipped to customers who expect documented, repeatable quality, QA/QC is central to how we deliver - from the raw material and bought-out components that come in, through machining and assembly, to the functional testing and Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) before a machine leaves our facility.
Role Summary
We are looking for a QA/QC Engineer to own quality checks across all three product lines - Kinemach's automation and assembly systems, Procer's mixing and homogenizing equipment, and DynaScrew's screw-feeding and driving systems. This is a hands-on, shop-floor role: you will inspect incoming materials and components, verify in-process machining and assembly against engineering drawings, run functional and calibration checks on finished sub-assemblies and machines, and maintain the inspection records and documentation our customers and quality systems require.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming quality inspection of raw materials, castings, and bought-out components (motors, sensors, PLCs, pneumatics, fasteners) against purchase specifications and drawings.
- Carry out in-process dimensional inspection during machining and fabrication using standard measuring instruments (verniers, micrometers, dial/height gauges); read and verify parts against engineering drawings and GD&T callouts.
- Conduct functional and calibration testing on assembled sub-systems - for example torque verification and screw-feed accuracy on DynaScrew stations, and rotor-stator clearance, leak, and CIP/SIP checks on Procer mixing equipment.
- Support final inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of completed machines prior to dispatch, including preparing FAT checklists and test records for customer sign-off.
- Raise, document, and track Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs); coordinate with production, design, and vendors on root cause and corrective actions.
- Maintain calibration schedules and records for measuring and test instruments, and ensure traceability of inspection data.
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation - inspection reports, quality plans, test certificates - in line with ISO 9001 requirements, and GMP-related documentation for Procer's pharma/food equipment where applicable.
- Assist with vendor/supplier quality evaluation and periodic audits of incoming material quality.
- Flag recurring quality issues on the shop floor and support continuous improvement in inspection methods and process controls.
Requirements
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Production, Industrial, or Mechatronics Engineering (or equivalent).
- 0-3 years of experience in a QA/QC, quality inspection, or manufacturing quality role - freshers with strong fundamentals and internship/project exposure to inspection are welcome to apply.
- Working knowledge of standard measuring instruments (vernier caliper, micrometer, dial/height gauge); exposure to CMM is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including basic GD&T.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality management concepts and basic documentation practices (inspection reports, NCRs, calibration records).
- Comfortable working on the shop floor across machining, assembly, and testing areas, not only at a desk.
- Good communication skills to coordinate with production, design, and vendors; proficiency with MS Office (Excel in particular).
Preferred (Good to Have)
- Prior exposure to capital equipment, custom machine building, or low-volume/high-mix manufacturing rather than mass-production QA.
- Familiarity with GMP requirements or quality expectations for pharmaceutical/food processing equipment.
- Basic exposure to electromechanical or mechatronic system testing (torque tools, sensors, PLC-driven equipment).
What We Offer
- Direct, hands-on exposure to three distinct engineering product lines - automation, precision mixing/process equipment, and precision fastening systems - under one roof.
- Close mentorship from senior engineering and quality teams on custom machine-building practices not typically seen in mass-production QA roles.
- A shop-floor-first culture where quality engineers work directly alongside design, machining, and assembly teams.
