Senior Cloud Developer (Trading API EXP)
Position (PART TIME)
Location : Banjara Hills , Hyderabad
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Developer with strong experience in cloud-native application development and financial/trading platform APIs. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the Interactive Brokers (IBKR) API or a comparable brokerage/trading API and must be able to quickly map equivalent trading-platform knowledge to IBKR.
Must-Have Requirements
· 7+ years of software/cloud development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience developing cloud-native applications, APIs, and microservices.
- Strong programming experience in Java and/or Python.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, including cloud services, deployment, security, and monitoring.
- Strong experience with REST APIs, WebSockets, event-driven architecture, and API integrations.
· Mandatory: Hands-on experience with Interactive Brokers (IBKR) API or a comparable trading/brokerage platform API.
- Understanding of trading workflows such as:
o Market data feeds
- Account/portfolio data
- Order placement and execution
- Order status and lifecycle
- Positions, balances and risk data
- Authentication/session management
- Candidate with a different trading platform must demonstrate the ability to map their existing API/platform knowledge to IBKR quickly.
Strong Plus
· Experience developing trading bots, algorithmic trading systems, or automated order-execution applications.
- Experience with IBKR TWS API, Client Portal API, or similar brokerage APIs.
- Experience with real-time market data and streaming systems.
- Experience with Kafka or other messaging/event-streaming platforms.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code.
- Knowledge of trading risk controls, order types and execution workflows.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The strongest candidates will combine senior cloud development + trading API integration + real-time systems experience. Direct IBKR experience is preferred, but strong experience with platforms such as Alpaca, TD Ameritrade/Schwab, Interactive Brokers alternatives, FIX-based systems, or other brokerage/trading APIs may be considered if the candidate can clearly demonstrate transferable knowledge.
Trading-bot experience is a major advantage but is NOT mandatory.
