Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Landscape Horticulture professional to support the planning, implementation, and maintenance of landscape projects. The role involves assisting in plant care, irrigation management, site supervision, and ensuring healthy and aesthetically pleasing landscapes across residential, commercial, or public spaces.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the execution of landscape horticulture projects including gardens, parks, and green spaces
- Support plant selection based on climate, soil conditions, and design requirements
- Participate in planting, irrigation, fertilization, pruning, and pest management activities
- Monitor plant health and report pest, disease, or nutrient deficiencies
- Assist in maintaining landscape maintenance schedules
- Conduct basic soil testing and support soil improvement activities
- Help implement sustainable and eco-friendly landscaping practices
- Coordinate with site supervisors, contractors, and gardening staff
- Maintain records of plant inventory, maintenance activities, and material usage
- Ensure adherence to safety and environmental standards at project sites
Required Skills & Competencies
- Basic knowledge of horticulture, plant science, and landscaping practices
- Understanding of irrigation systems and turf maintenance
- Familiarity with common pests, diseases, and plant care techniques
- Ability to read basic landscape drawings (preferred)
- Good observation and problem-solving skills
- Strong willingness to learn and adapt
- Basic proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of AutoCAD/SketchUp is an advantage
- Good communication and teamwork skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture, Landscape Architecture, or related field
- 1–3 years of relevant experience (internships or field training considered)
Preferred Experience
- Exposure to nursery operations or plant propagation
- Experience assisting in residential or small-scale landscape projects
- Knowledge of local/native plant species
