We are seeking a passionate and academically driven professional for the position of Assistant Professor – Fashion Communication. The role involves delivering high-quality teaching, mentoring students, contributing to curriculum development, and engaging in academic and industry-oriented projects within the domain of fashion communication and design.
The ideal candidate should possess strong conceptual and practical expertise in visual communication, fashion media, branding, styling, digital storytelling, and emerging communication trends in the fashion industry.
- Deliver undergraduate and/or postgraduate courses in Fashion Communication and allied subjects.
- Develop lesson plans, academic content, assignments, and assessment frameworks aligned with university standards.
- Mentor and guide students on academic projects, portfolios, internships, and industry exposure initiatives.
- Conduct practical and studio-based sessions related to fashion graphics, branding, styling, photography, fashion media, publication design, digital communication, and visual merchandising.
- Contribute to curriculum development and academic innovation in line with industry trends.
- Participate in research, publications, seminars, workshops, conferences, and faculty development activities.
- Build industry collaborations for guest lectures, live projects, internships, and placements.
- Support departmental administration, accreditation processes, and university academic activities.
- Encourage interdisciplinary learning and creative thinking among students.
- Master’s Degree in Fashion Design, Fashion Communication, Fashion Media, Visual Communication, Communication Design, Apparel Design, or related disciplines from a recognized institution/university.
- Preference will be given to candidates with prior teaching experience in Universities or reputed Design Institutions.
- Strong understanding of fashion communication practices, branding, consumer behavior, and digital content trends.
- Proficiency in relevant design and communication tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.).
- Excellent communication, presentation, and mentoring skills.
- Industry exposure in fashion communication, media, styling, branding, or creative agencies will be an added advantage.
- Creative and conceptual thinking ability
- Strong portfolio and presentation skills
- Knowledge of fashion trends and consumer engagement strategies
- Ability to integrate technology and digital platforms into teaching
- Research orientation with academic writing capability
- 4–8 years of relevant academic and/or industry experience preferred.
