Job Description – Retail E-Commerce Merchandiser
Position: Retail E-Commerce Merchandiser
Department: E-Commerce / Retail Operations
Location: Dadar
Job Purpose
To drive online sales and enhance the customer shopping experience by managing product
assortment, website merchandising, inventory availability, promotions, and product
performance across the company's e-commerce platforms. The role ensures accurate
product presentation, effective stock management, and timely execution of online
campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
1. Website & Online Merchandising
Manage product categories, collections, and merchandising on the company
website.
Ensure attractive and effective product presentation to maximize conversions.
Update homepage banners, promotional creatives, landing pages, and collections as
per marketing plans.
Optimize product sorting, recommendations, and category navigation.
2. Shopify & E-Commerce Platform Management
Manage day-to-day operations of the Shopify store.
Upload and maintain product catalogs, pricing, product descriptions, size charts, and
images.
Coordinate with developers for website updates, bug fixes, and enhancements.
Ensure website functionality, user experience, and mobile responsiveness.
3. Inventory & Stock Management
Monitor online inventory and stock availability.
Coordinate with Retail Merchandising, Warehouse, and Operations teams for stock
allocation and replenishment.
Ensure inventory synchronization between ERP, retail stores, and online platforms.
Minimize stock-outs and manage aging inventory through promotional activities.
4. Sales & Performance Analysis
Monitor daily online sales performance.
Analyze product-wise, category-wise, and collection-wise sales trends.
Track key metrics such as:
o Revenue
o Conversion Rate
o Average Order Value (AOV)
o Units Per Transaction (UPT)
o Return Rate
o Product Sell-Through
Recommend actions to improve sales and profitability.
5. Product Listing & Catalog Management
Ensure timely uploading of new products and collections.
Maintain accurate product information, specifications, pricing, and images.
Ensure product data quality and consistency across all online channels.
Coordinate with Photography, Design, and Marketing teams for content
requirements.
6. Promotions & Campaign Execution
Execute online sales campaigns, discounts, coupon codes, and seasonal promotions.
Coordinate with Digital Marketing teams for campaign launches.
Monitor campaign performance and provide post-campaign analysis.
Support festive, end-of-season, and special promotional events.
7. Marketplace Management (If Applicable)
Manage listings and inventory across marketplaces such as Myntra, Ajio, Amazon,
Flipkart, etc.
Monitor marketplace sales and performance.
Coordinate with marketplace account managers for campaigns and growth
initiatives.
8. Reporting & MIS
Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports.
Track inventory health, stock availability, and product performance.
Generate actionable insights to improve online business performance.
Maintain accurate merchandising and inventory records.
Qualification & Experience
Graduate/Post Graduate in Retail Management, Fashion Management, Commerce,
Marketing, or related field.
2–5 years of experience in E-Commerce Merchandising, preferably in Apparel,
Fashion, Lifestyle, or Retail Industry.
Experience in Shopify platform management is mandatory.
