Role Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Head – Supply Chain & Purchase to lead sourcing strategy, vendor development, procurement operations, and cost optimization for our EV two-wheeler manufacturing business.
This role will own end-to-end supply chain performance, ensuring uninterrupted material availability, optimized procurement costs, strong vendor partnerships, and alignment with production and business growth targets.
The ideal candidate should have strong automotive or EV industry experience with proven expertise in cost control, supplier management, and supply chain strategy.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sourcing Strategy & Procurement Leadership
- Develop and implement strategic sourcing plans aligned with business and production goals.
- Lead procurement of key EV components: battery packs, cells, BMS, motors, controllers, electronics, chassis parts, plastics, and aggregates.
- Drive long-term supplier agreements and localisation strategies.
- Ensure dual sourcing for critical components to mitigate risk.
2. Vendor Management & Development
- Identify, evaluate, onboard, and develop reliable suppliers.
- Lead supplier negotiations for pricing, quality, delivery terms, and contracts.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance reviews (QCD – Quality, Cost, Delivery).
- Build strong partnerships to support product launches and ramp-ups.
3. Procurement Cost Optimisation
- Own BOM cost reduction targets.
- Drive value engineering and cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain.
- Implement competitive bidding and benchmarking processes.
- Monitor commodity trends and proactively manage cost risks.
4. Supply Chain Planning & Execution
- Ensure seamless coordination between procurement, production, planning, and logistics teams.
- Maintain optimal inventory levels while avoiding stock-outs and excess holding.
- Lead demand planning and supply planning processes.
- Ensure timely availability of materials for new product development and production.
5. Risk Management & Compliance
- Identify supply risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and ESG requirements.
- Strengthen import/export management (if applicable).
6. Team Leadership & Process Improvement
- Build and lead a high-performance procurement and supply chain team.
- Implement ERP/SCM systems and digitization initiatives.
- Establish KPIs and dashboards for continuous monitoring and improvement.
Pay: ₹50,000.00 - ₹80,000.00 per month
