About Us
We are building a technology-enabled home healthcare platform that connects families with verified caregivers (nurses, attendants, physiotherapists). Our goal is to bring trust, transparency, and consistency to in-home care delivery.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Marketing and Business Development Associate who will meet doctors, nursing consultants, visit clinics and build relationships and build out a steady referral pipeline for both patients and caregivers.
Key Responsibilities
1. Build and work a target list of anchor contacts
- Identify, prioritise, and systematically approach senior consultants, solo GPs, physiotherapists, and clinic owners across target zip codes — Anna Nagar, Kilpauk, Nungambakkam, Mylapore, Adyar.
- Own the outreach from first contact to first referral.
2. Set up and run in-person meetings
- Schedule and attend 1-on-1 meetings with doctors, clinic heads, discharge coordinators, nursing matrons, and physio leads. Know when to pitch, when to listen, and when to leave and follow up.
- Not every meeting ends with a yes — your job is to keep the relationship warm until it does.
3. Convert conversations into referral agreements
- Move contacts from 'aware' to 'active referrer' — whether that is an informal referral understanding, a formal arrangement, or a caregiver supply agreement.
- Track each contact's stage and own the follow-through.
4. Run targeted community outreach
- Set up kiosks at RWA events, pharmacies, and community parks.
- Represent KarunaiCare at local health camps and awareness events.
- Collect WhatsApp numbers, distribute referral materials, and feed leads into the ops pipeline.
5. Track, report, and iterate
- Maintain a live contact tracker — every person you have met, their status, what was discussed, what the next step is.
- Report weekly on outreach volume, conversion rate, and blockers. Be honest when something is not working.
6. Be the feedback loop from the field
- You will hear things from doctors and clinics that we won't hear any other way — objections, competitors, unmet needs, referral fee expectations.
- Bring that back to the team. The field intelligence you gather shapes product decisions, pricing, and the next phase of the plan.
Qualifications
- 2–5 years of field sales, business development, or partnership experience — healthcare, pharma, medical devices, health-tech, or diagnostics experience highly preferred
- Comfort walking into a clinic cold, waiting between patients, and starting a conversation without a warm introductions
- Fluent in Tamil, English
- Organised and self-directed — able to manage a pipeline of 50+ contacts without being micromanaged on daily activity
- Comfortable with targets and honest about progress — this role has clear conversion expectations
- Own vehicle and willingness to travel across Chennai zip codes daily
Preferred
- Prior experience calling on doctors, hospitals, or clinics in Chennai specifically — existing relationships in the medical community here are a meaningful head start
- Background in pharma field sales, hospital liaison, or medical device rep roles — you already know how to navigate the waiting room, the MR queue, and the receptionist
- Understanding of how home healthcare, discharge planning, or post-acute care works in the Indian context
- Experience working at an early-stage startup
- Existing network among physiotherapists or nursing professionals in Chennai
