In this role, you will be responsible for leading production operations and driving operational excellence across safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and cost performance. You will ensure efficient manufacturing processes, strong team performance, continuous improvement, and adherence to Autoliv Production System (APS) standards while supporting customer and business objectives.
You will need to deliver a safe, productive, and quality-focused manufacturing environment while achieving performance targets and building a culture of continuous improvement.

Leading day-to-day production operations and ensuring achievement of production targets.
Ensuring production teams are appropriately resourced and working according to APS defined standard processes.
Driving Health & Safety, Quality, Productivity, Cost, and Delivery (PDD) performance targets.
Conducting daily production meetings and communicating production status, priorities, and critical issues.
Escalating risks and coordinating recovery actions to ensure uninterrupted production flow.
Optimizing manufacturing and support processes to improve efficiency and performance.
Ensuring compliance with work instructions, quality systems, environmental requirements, and labor regulations.
Analyzing production and quality reports and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Leading productivity improvement and cost optimization projects across the manufacturing function.
Developing and executing annual operating plans aligned with business objectives.
Supporting policy deployment and leading performance improvement initiatives at plant level.
Implementing Lean Manufacturing, JIT, JIDOKA, Visual Management, and World Class Manufacturing practices.
Driving line balancing activities using MOST time calculations and manpower optimization techniques.
Developing value stream maps and identifying opportunities for waste elimination and process improvements.
Leading FMEA activities and supporting quality assurance during new process establishment.
Promoting and facilitating Kaizen, Quality Circle, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Implementing and strengthening Autoliv Production System (APS) practices throughout the plant.
Collaborating with cross-functional teams and other Autoliv locations to share best practices.
Developing team capabilities through training, coaching, and skill enhancement programs.
Building a strong team culture aligned with Autoliv values and one-company philosophy.
Managing production capacity according to forecasted demand and customer requirements.
Participating in crisis management activities and supporting production recovery plans.
Preparing departmental budgets and supporting investment and cost planning activities.
Leading teams to achieve customer expectations with effective cross-functional collaboration.
If you have/are:
Diploma with 12–15 years of experience or B.E. in Mechanical/Automobile Engineering with 6–8 years of relevant experience.
Experience in production management within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
Hands-on experience managing assembly line operations and troubleshooting manufacturing processes.
Strong exposure to multinational manufacturing environments.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, APS, World Class Manufacturing, JIT, JIDOKA, and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
Experience with line balancing, MOST time calculations, value stream mapping, and productivity improvement.
Knowledge of quality systems, FMEA, process controls, and root cause analysis.
Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Flexibility to work in shifts and support six-day working schedules.
Additional education or training in Safety is an advantage.
Fluency in English; knowledge of Kannada, Hindi, and Tamil is desirable.
