Costing Engineer
Job Summary
A Costing Engineer is responsible for estimating product costs, analyzing expenses, and helping the company control manufacturing costs. This role supports pricing decisions, profitability, and budgeting in engineering and production projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for products, panels, or projects
- Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and BOM (Bill of Materials)
- Monitor actual vs estimated costs
- Identify cost-saving opportunities
- Support cost reduction and efficiency improvement initiatives
- Maintain cost sheets and pricing records
- Prepare quotations and tender documents
- Generate MIS reports for management
- Work with design, production, purchase, and sales teams
- Coordinate with vendors for material pricing
- Support project and planning teams
- Evaluate production processes and suggest improvements
- Ensure cost-effective use of materials and resources
- Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of costing and estimation
- Understanding of engineering drawings and BOM
- Good analytical and calculation skills
- Excel proficiency (must)
- ERP / Tally knowledge (preferred)
- Qualifications
- Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
- B.Com / MBA (Finance) (for costing + accounts roles)
Pay: ₹15,029.18 - ₹25,627.59 per month
