About the Role
We are looking for a sharp, analytical, and experienced Cost Control Engineer specializing in Electrical and Extra-Low Voltage (ELV) distributions to join our project execution team in India. In this role, you will act as the financial anchor for our electrical engineering projects, ensuring they stay on budget, managing variations, and safeguarding profit margins from initiation to closeout.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Baseline Management: Establish, monitor, and maintain cost baselines specifically for electrical and ELV distribution systems across active projects.
- Variation Orders: Evaluate, price, negotiate, and process contractor or client variation orders and scope changes meticulously.
- Cash Flow & Financial Tracking: Track project cash flows, monitor expenditures, and prepare accurate cost-to-completion forecasts.
- Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify financial and commercial risks on active projects and implement timely mitigation strategies.
- Cost Reporting: Generate regular financial status reports, budget variances, and cost-value reconciliations (CVR) for management review.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering is mandatory.
- Experience: 6 to 10 years of proven experience in cost control, estimation, or commercial management within the electrical/ELV construction or contracting sector.
- Technical Know-How: Deep understanding of electrical panels, cabling, lighting, and ELV systems (CCTV, Access Control, Fire Alarm, BMS, etc.) alongside their material and labor cost drivers.
- Software Skills: Proficiency in advanced MS Excel and project/cost tracking software.
- Competencies: Strong negotiation skills, keen attention to detail, and a robust understanding of construction contracts and financial risk management.
