Profile:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Maritime Studies, Nautical Science, or a related field (MBA preferred)
- Prior experience in business development or sales within the marine, shipyard, shipping, offshore, or maritime logistics industry preferred
- Strong understanding of ship repair, shipbuilding, dry-docking, marine logistics, and vessel services business
- Familiarity with Classification Society regulations, IMO standards, and maritime industry practices will be an added advantage
- Proven track record of generating leads, closing deals, and achieving sales targets
- Strong negotiation, networking, and relationship-management skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to prepare proposals and commercial offers
- Willingness to travel extensively for client meetings, site visits, and industry events
Key Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in shipyard, ship repair, marine logistics, and vessel services
- Generate leads through market research, cold outreach, referrals, and networking within the maritime sector
- Build a strong pipeline of prospective clients including shipowners, shipping companies, offshore operators, and port authorities
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and revenue targets as defined by management
2. Market Research & Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitor activities in the marine and shipyard industry
- Analyze customer requirements and industry developments to identify potential business avenues
- Prepare market intelligence and competitor benchmarking reports for management review
3. Proposal & Tender Management
- Prepare and submit competitive proposals, quotations, and tender documents for marine and shipyard projects
- Coordinate with technical and operations teams to develop accurate scope of work and costing
- Follow up on submitted proposals and negotiate commercial terms and contracts with clients
4. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with existing and prospective clients
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client queries, escalations, and service requirements
- Ensure high levels of client satisfaction through timely follow-ups and after-sales support
5. Marine Industry Networking & Liaison
- Represent the company at maritime exhibitions, trade shows, conferences, and industry forums
- Liaise with shipping agents, shipowners, classification societies, and port authorities to generate business
- Build and maintain a strong professional network within the marine, shipyard, and maritime logistics industry
6. Sales Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain accurate records of leads, prospects, and client interactions in CRM/tracking systems
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly business development reports for management review
- Track and report on sales pipeline, conversion rates, and progress against revenue targets
7. Stakeholder Communication & Coordination
- Coordinate with internal teams including operations, projects, and finance to ensure smooth execution of secured business
- Communicate client requirements effectively to internal stakeholders
- Attend internal review meetings and provide updates on business development activities
