Role Summary
The Civil Site Engineer is responsible for daily site execution, labour coordination, quality checking, material follow-up, measurements, and progress reporting. The role ensures that construction work is completed as per drawings, specifications, schedule, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily civil construction activities at site.
- Execute work as per drawings, BOQ, specifications, and instructions from the Project Manager.
- Coordinate labour, contractors, supervisors, and site workers.
- Check quality of RCC, masonry, plastering, flooring, finishing, waterproofing, and other civil works.
- Take site measurements and maintain measurement records.
- Prepare daily site reports with labour count, work completed, materials received, issues, and next-day plan.
- Track material requirements and inform the Project Manager in advance.
- Monitor contractor work progress and report delays.
- Coordinate with architect/design team for drawing clarifications.
- Maintain site photos, work records, and basic site documentation.
- Support billing, variation records, and quantity checking.
- Ensure safety, housekeeping, and discipline at site.
- Prepare snag lists and follow up for rectification before handover.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of civil construction methods.
- Ability to read civil and architectural drawings.
- Knowledge of materials, labour productivity, and site quality standards.
- Basic knowledge of AutoCAD, MS Excel, and measurements.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to manage site pressure and solve daily execution issues.
Qualification & Experience
- Diploma / B.Tech in Civil Engineering preferred.
- 1 to 2 years of experience in building construction, villas, apartments, commercial projects, or interior civil works.
Key Performance Indicators
- Daily work completed as per plan.
- Quality issues reduced.
- Material shortages avoided through advance planning.
- Accurate site measurements and reports.
- Contractor delays reported early.
- Site maintained safely and professionally.
Main Objective
To ensure smooth day-to-day site execution and support the Project Manager in completing projects on time, within budget, and with good quality.
