A Physical Education Teacher is responsible for promoting physical fitness, healthy lifestyle habits, teamwork, and sportsmanship among students. They plan and conduct physical activities, sports training, and fitness programs in accordance with the school curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and conduct physical education classes for students.
- Teach various sports, games, and physical fitness activities.
- Develop students’ motor skills, coordination, and teamwork abilities.
- Organize sports events, annual sports day, and inter-school competitions.
- Ensure safety during physical activities and maintain sports equipment.
- Assess and evaluate students’ physical performance and progress.
- Promote discipline, sportsmanship, and healthy habits.
- Maintain attendance and performance records.
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of sports rules and fitness training techniques.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire students.
- First aid and basic medical knowledge.
- Organizational and teamwork abilities.
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education (B.P.Ed.) or equivalent.
- Certification in sports coaching (preferred).
- Teaching license (as per school/government norms).
