Key Roles & Responsibilities
- Examine patients and obtain detailed medical histories.
- Diagnose illnesses through physical examinations, laboratory tests, and imaging studies.
- Develop and implement appropriate treatment plans.
- Prescribe medications and monitor their effectiveness.
- Manage chronic diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, thyroid disorders, asthma, COPD, and heart disease.
- Treat acute medical conditions including infections, fever, respiratory illnesses, and gastrointestinal disorders.
- Admit and manage hospitalized patients, including ICU/HDU patients when required.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies and provide life-saving treatment.
- Coordinate with specialists for referrals and multidisciplinary patient care.
- Interpret ECGs, X-rays, CT/MRI reports, laboratory investigations, and other diagnostic tests.
- Perform common bedside procedures such as:
- Central venous catheter (Central Line) insertion (if trained)
- Arterial line insertion
- Lumbar puncture
- Pleural aspiration (Thoracentesis)
- Ascitic fluid tapping (Paracentesis)
- Endotracheal intubation (if trained)
- Counsel patients and families regarding diagnosis, treatment options, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications.
- Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with hospital protocols.
- Participate in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Supervise junior doctors, interns, and nursing staff when applicable.
- Stay updated with current clinical guidelines and evidence-based medical practices.
Required Qualifications
- MBBS with MD/DNB in General Medicine (Internal Medicine).
- Valid registration with the relevant State Medical Council or the National Medical Commission (NMC).
- ACLS/BLS certification is desirable.
- Experience in ICU, emergency medicine, or multispecialty hospital settings is preferred (depending on the role).
Pay: ₹300,000.00 - ₹400,000.00 per month
