About the Role
We are seeking a Technical Program Manager to support our Release Management function. In this role, you will partner closely with a Staff and Senior Technical Program Managers and collaborate with engineering and cross-functional teams to help coordinate software releases for the UKG Pro Suite.

The ideal candidate is organized, curious, eager to learn, and interested in modern software development practices, including Agile, CI/CD, evolving Agentic SDLC workflows, and AI-assisted ways of working.
As UKG continues to evolve toward AI-assisted and agent-driven software delivery, this role offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of Release Management. You'll work alongside experienced Technical Program Managers to leverage AI to streamline operations, improve engineering efficiency, and contribute to the adoption of Agentic SDLC practices across the organization.

Responsibilities
- Support planning and coordination of software releases across multiple engineering teams.
- Partner with engineering and technical program management teams to track release milestones, dependencies, and deliverables.
- Maintain release plans, documentation, and communications to help ensure predictable, high-quality software releases.
- Create and maintain JIRA queries, dashboards, and reports to provide visibility into release health, risks, and overall release progress.
- Help identify release risks, dependencies, and blockers, escalating issues to the appropriate stakeholders when needed.
- Assist in facilitating release readiness activities, cross-functional meetings, and stakeholder communications.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to simplify release processes, automate repetitive tasks, and leverage AI to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Learn and apply modern Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) practices, including various engineering methodologies, CI/CD, DevOps principles, and emerging Agentic SDLC concepts.
- Use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar technologies to improve documentation, reporting, communication, analysis, workflow automation, and day-to-day productivity.

Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Foundational understanding of modern software development practices, including the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Agile methodologies, and CI/CD concepts.
- Interest in emerging engineering practices, including Agentic SDLC and AI-assisted software delivery.
- Experience using JIRA, including creating filters, queries, dashboards, and reports.
- Comfort using generative AI tools (such as Claude, ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar) to improve productivity, communication, documentation, analysis, and workflow automation.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, adaptability, and a passion for continuous learning and process improvement.
- Ability to perform in a hybrid-office role, requiring three or more days per week in the office.

Preferred Qualifications
- Internship, academic project, open-source contribution, or equivalent experience working with software development teams.
- Familiarity with release management concepts in a SaaS environment.
- Experience using collaboration and engineering tools such as Confluence, GitHub, TestRail, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with creating dashboards and reports to communicate project, release, or operational status.
- Exposure to Agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Interest in AI agents, workflow automation, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or other emerging technologies that are transforming software engineering and program management
