Position Title: Academic Head

Job Summary:
The Academic Head is responsible for leading and managing the academic functions of the school, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, curriculum implementation, faculty development, student achievement, and continuous academic improvement. The role involves providing strategic direction to the academic team while maintaining compliance with educational standards and school policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Academic Leadership
- Develop, implement, and monitor academic policies, curriculum, and instructional strategies.
- Ensure effective delivery of curriculum across all grades and subjects.
- Establish academic goals and monitor progress toward achieving them.
- Drive innovation and excellence in teaching and learning practices.
- Analyze student performance data and implement improvement plans.
Curriculum Management
- Review and update curriculum in line with educational standards and school objectives.
- Coordinate lesson planning, assessments, and academic schedules.
- Ensure proper integration of technology and modern teaching methodologies.
- Monitor curriculum execution and learning outcomes.
Faculty Management & Development
- Supervise and support teachers in achieving academic excellence.
- Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback.
- Identify training needs and organize professional development programs.
- Mentor teachers and promote best teaching practices.
- Assist in teacher recruitment, induction, and performance evaluation.
Student Achievement & Development
- Monitor student academic performance and progress.
- Develop intervention strategies for students requiring additional support.
- Promote a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
- Support initiatives related to student enrichment and talent development.
Assessment & Quality Assurance
- Oversee examination planning, assessment systems, and result analysis.
- Ensure fair and effective evaluation practices.
- Conduct academic audits and quality checks.
- Prepare academic reports and performance reviews for management.
School Operations Support
- Work closely with the Principal and management on academic planning.
- Participate in policy development and strategic initiatives.
- Coordinate academic events, competitions, seminars, and workshops.
- Ensure compliance with board requirements and educational regulations.
Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in Education or a relevant academic discipline.
- B.Ed. or M.Ed. preferred.
- Minimum 7–10 years of teaching experience, with at least 3–5 years in an academic leadership role.
- Experience with curriculum planning, teacher supervision, and academic administration.
