Job Summary
The Stewarding Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the stewarding team and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and sanitation in all kitchen, dishwashing, and food production areas. The role ensures compliance with food safety regulations and supports smooth kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the stewarding team.
- Ensure cleanliness and sanitation of all kitchen areas, equipment, utensils, crockery, and cutlery.
- Monitor dishwashing operations to ensure timely availability of clean utensils and equipment.
- Maintain hygiene standards in accordance with HACCP, GMP, GHP, and food safety requirements.
- Ensure proper use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections of kitchens, stores, wash areas, and waste disposal areas.
- Prepare stewarding duty rosters and allocate tasks effectively.
- Train and guide stewarding staff on cleaning procedures, hygiene practices, and safety standards.
- Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies and raise requisitions as required.
- Coordinate with kitchen and quality teams to ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal practices.
- Maintain records related to cleaning schedules, pest control, and sanitation activities.
- Report maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns to the concerned department.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and airport security requirements.
Experience
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in stewarding operations.
- Prior supervisory experience in hotels, flight catering, industrial kitchens, or large-scale food production facilities preferred.
