As part of our continued growth, we are looking for an experienced R&D Engineering Manager to lead our multidisciplinary engineering team in Bangalore and drive the development of innovative electromechanical products.
About the Role
As an R&D Engineering Manager, you will lead cross-functional engineering teams responsible for the complete product development lifecycle—from concept and feasibility through design, prototyping, testing, validation, and production launch.
This is a leadership role requiring strong technical expertise, project management capabilities, and the ability to collaborate with global stakeholders across Europe and the USA.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary engineering teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, and Systems Engineers.
- Define and execute the R&D strategy for new product development and electromechanical platforms.
- Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, continuous improvement, and engineering excellence.
- Plan team capacity, allocate resources, and support competency development.
Product Development
- Lead the complete product development lifecycle from concept to production.
- Drive system architecture for electromechanical products integrating mechanical, electrical, firmware, and control systems.
- Review and approve engineering documentation, technical specifications, design calculations, verification, and validation plans.
- Ensure designs meet customer requirements, quality standards, and manufacturability goals.
Project Management
- Manage multiple R&D projects, ensuring delivery within scope, timeline, budget, and quality objectives.
- Collaborate with Product Management to define technical requirements and product roadmaps.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
- Coordinate with suppliers and external technology partners for new materials, components, and emerging technologies.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Lead product validation, reliability testing, and root cause analysis activities.
- Ensure compliance with applicable engineering standards and quality management systems.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product performance, reliability, and development efficiency.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related engineering discipline.
- Master's degree is an added advantage.
- 8–12+ years of experience in electromechanical product development.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience leading engineering teams or managing technical projects.
- Proven experience managing complex product development projects from concept through production.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design, electronics, embedded systems, sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional and global engineering teams.
Pay: ₹1,000,000.00 - ₹1,200,000.00 per year
