Position: Instrumentation Engineer
Experience: 5–7 years’ experience in Oil & Gas EPCM Engineering Consultancy.
Experience in: Offshore Platforms, Onshore Oil & Gas Facilities, FEED, Detailed Engineering, Brownfield/Greenfield projects, Offshore platforms/FPSO Industry Oil & Gas / Offshore / Onshore

Job Summary
The Instrumentation & Control Engineer is responsible for engineering, design, selection, specification, and implementation of instrumentation and control systems for offshore oil & gas facilities such as wellhead platforms, process platforms, FPSOs, compressor platforms, and utility systems.
The role includes FEED, detailed engineering, procurement support, construction support, commissioning assistance, and compliance with international standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare Instrument Design Basis, philosophies, and engineering deliverables. Develop: Instrument Index , I/O List, Cable Schedule, Hook-up Drawings, Instrument Location Layouts, JB Layouts, Cable Routing Layouts, Loop Diagrams, Logic Diagrams, Cause & Effect Charts, Control Narratives
Design offshore field instrumentation systems for: Pressure, Temperature, Flow, Level , Analyzer systems Prepare datasheets for: Control Valves, Safety Valves ,Flow Meters , Transmitters, Gauges, Switches, PLC/ESD/F&G systems
- Control & Safety Systems Engineering of:
PLC Systems, SCADA, DCS, ESD Systems, Fire & Gas Detection Systems, HIPPS (if applicable) Develop shutdown philosophies and voting logic. Participate in SIL assessment and HAZOP/HAZID studies, Ensure integration between package vendors and central control systems.
- Offshore & Hazardous Area Engineering
Selection of instruments suitable for: Hazardous Area Classification, Offshore marine environment, High humidity and corrosion conditions, Ensure compliance with: ATEX, IECEx , API, IEC, ISO, NORSOK, Client standards
- Vendor & Procurement Support
Prepare Technical Requisitions (TBE/MR). Evaluate vendor offers and Review vendor documents and drawings. Participate in technical bid evaluations. Coordinate with suppliers and package vendors
Coordinate with: Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical/Piping, Telecom, Structural/Civil, Client and Classification Agencies
- Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation, Electrical & Instrumentation & Control Engineering
Technical Skills
SPI / Hexagon Smart Instrumentation, AutoCAD, MicroStation, INtools, AVEVA Engineering, MS Office
Instrument sizing calculations, Control valve sizing, Flow meter selection,Hazardous area classification, Cable engineering, Offshore standards, Functional safety, SIL concepts, Fire & Gas systems
- Deliverables Typically Handled
