Position Summary
DeoDap is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Legal & Compliance Officer to oversee legal matters, ensure regulatory compliance, draft and review commercial agreements, manage litigation, and support business operations with sound legal advice. The ideal candidate should have experience in corporate law, e-commerce regulations, commercial contracts, and statutory compliance.
Key ResponsibilitiesLegal Management
- Draft, review, negotiate, and vet commercial agreements, vendor contracts, NDAs, service agreements, employment contracts, franchise agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Provide legal opinions to management on business decisions and commercial transactions.
- Coordinate with external legal counsels for litigation and legal notices.
- Prepare responses to legal notices and consumer complaints.
- Monitor ongoing litigation and maintain legal records.
Compliance Management
- Ensure compliance with Companies Act, GST regulations, labour laws, IT Act, Consumer Protection Act, Legal Metrology, and applicable e-commerce regulations.
- Maintain statutory registers and legal documentation.
- Coordinate regulatory filings and renewals.
- Monitor changes in laws and advise management on compliance requirements.
- Conduct periodic legal and compliance audits.
Contract & Risk Management
- Identify legal risks in business operations and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Develop standard legal templates and contract management processes.
- Review procurement, vendor, and customer agreements to safeguard company interests.
Intellectual Property
- Manage trademarks, copyrights, and brand protection.
- Coordinate filing, renewal, and enforcement of IP rights.
- Monitor unauthorized use of company trademarks and intellectual property.
Policy & Governance
- Draft and update company policies, SOPs, privacy policies, terms & conditions, and compliance manuals.
- Ensure website, marketplace, and business operations comply with applicable regulations.
- Support corporate governance initiatives and internal compliance programs.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Liaise with government authorities, consultants, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Support HR on employment law matters and disciplinary proceedings.
- Work closely with Finance, Procurement, Operations, and Management on legal matters.
Qualifications
- LL.B. (Mandatory)
- LL.M. or Company Secretary (CS) will be an added advantage.
Experience
- 3–6 years of experience in Corporate Legal & Compliance.
- Experience in e-commerce, retail, wholesale, logistics, FMCG, or manufacturing industries preferred.
- Experience in contract drafting, legal compliance, and litigation coordination.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Indian corporate and commercial laws.
- Knowledge of GST, labour laws, Companies Act, Consumer Protection Act, IT Act, and contract law.
- Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High attention to detail and confidentiality.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and legal documentation management.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
