Responsibilities and Duties
- Patient Preparation & Care: Greeting patients, explaining procedures, reviewing medical histories, and positioning them correctly for, or guiding them to, specific imaging angles.
- Imaging Procedures: Operating X-ray, or mobile equipment to capture images of bones, organs, and tissues.
- Radiation Safety: Applying lead shielding to patients and following ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure.
- Image Quality & Evaluation: Reviewing images for clarity and accuracy, ensuring they are suitable for diagnostic interpretation by a radiologist.
- Equipment Maintenance: Performing routine quality control checks, calibrating machines, and reporting equipment malfunctions.
- Documentation: Updating patient records in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system
