Electrical Maintenance Technician - Flexi-Pack Industry
Job Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Technician in the Flexi-Pack industry is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of all electrical systems, equipment, and machinery used in the production of flexible packaging materials. This role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and performing routine preventive maintenance on electrical and electronic systems to minimize downtime and ensure continuous production.
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs: Perform regular maintenance on electrical equipment such as motors, PLCs, inverters, control panels, and wiring systems. Diagnose and repair electrical faults to ensure machines operate smoothly.
Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve electrical issues, including problems with power distribution, motors, electrical circuits, and control systems.
Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, and testing of electrical systems and machinery to prevent unexpected breakdowns. Maintain and update equipment logs and service records.
Installation & Upgrades: Assist in the installation of new electrical systems, machinery, or equipment. Ensure all systems meet safety and operational standards.
Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all safety standards and electrical codes. Ensure the safe operation of all electrical equipment and implement safe working practices. Follow lockout/tagout procedures and safety protocols.
Collaboration: Work closely with production teams to ensure minimal disruption during electrical maintenance or repairs. Assist in machine optimization and support troubleshooting efforts for non-electrical issues.
Documentation: Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections. Prepare reports on machine performance and any potential electrical upgrades or replacements.
Skills & Qualifications
Education: Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 2-3 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing or packaging industry.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in PLC systems, motor controls, VFDs, and electrical schematics. Familiarity with industrial control systems and automation.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to troubleshoot electrical faults and provide effective solutions.
Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain high standards of quality and precision in repairs and maintenance tasks.
Physical Stamina: Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including standing, lifting, and working in confined spaces.
Work Environment
Manufacturing plant with potential exposure to industrial machinery, electrical systems, and high-voltage equipment.
Shifts may include night and weekend work to accommodate production schedules.
Certifications (Preferred but not required):
Electrical Certification or License
Training in safety protocols (e.g., First Aid, Electrical Safety)
