1. Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Site Incharge / Site Manager to manage the complete site execution of an Oil Pipeline and HSD Storage Tank Project, including mechanical fabrication, pipeline installation, tank fabrication/erection, electrical works, instrumentation, automation and associated construction activities.
The candidate will be responsible for overall site coordination, execution, manpower management, subcontractor coordination, quality, HSE, planning and timely completion of the project as per approved drawings, specifications and applicable codes.
2. Key ResponsibilitiesA. Project & Site Management
- Overall responsibility for day-to-day site execution and project progress.
- Plan and monitor activities according to project schedule and milestones.
- Coordinate Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automation and Civil activities.
- Manage site manpower, subcontractors, tools, equipment and material requirements.
- Coordinate with client, consultant, vendors and subcontractors.
- Conduct daily/weekly progress meetings and submit progress reports to management.
- Identify site constraints and take corrective action to maintain project schedule.
B. Pipeline & Mechanical Works
- Supervise MS/CS oil and HSD pipeline fabrication and erection.
- Review and understand P&ID, piping isometric drawings, GA drawings and piping layouts.
- Check pipe routing, dimensions, elevations, supports and installation as per approved drawings.
- Supervise pipe cutting, fit-up, welding, supports, hydrotesting, flushing and commissioning.
- Coordinate welding, NDT, pressure testing and inspection activities.
- Ensure proper fabrication and installation of valves, flanges, strainers, pumps and other piping components.
C. HSD Storage Tank Works
- Supervise HSD/MS storage tank fabrication and erection.
- Knowledge of tank bottom, shell course, roof, nozzles, manholes, staircases, platforms and structural works.
- Monitor plate cutting, rolling, fit-up, welding and erection activities.
- Coordinate tank inspection, dimensional checks, NDT, hydrotesting and other testing activities.
- Ensure tank fabrication and installation comply with approved drawings and applicable API/ASME/IS standards.
D. Electrical, Instrumentation & Automation
- Coordinate electrical installation associated with tanks and pipeline systems.
- Supervise cable tray, cable laying, termination, earthing, lighting and electrical equipment installation.
- Coordinate installation of level transmitters, pressure transmitters, flow meters, temperature instruments, tank gauging systems, control panels and junction boxes.
- Coordinate PLC/SCADA, automation, control and instrumentation works.
- Ensure proper testing, calibration, loop checking and commissioning activities.
E. Drawing & Technical Coordination
- Read and interpret:
- P&ID
- Piping Isometric Drawings
- GA/Layout Drawings
- Tank Drawings
- Structural Drawings
- Electrical SLDs
- Instrumentation Drawings
- Cable Schedule
- Hook-up Drawings
- Coordinate with engineering/design teams for drawing discrepancies and technical queries.
- Prepare/coordinate site measurements, BOQ verification and quantity reconciliation.
- Ensure work is executed strictly according to approved drawings and specifications.
F. Quality & Inspection
- Ensure execution as per approved ITP, method statements, specifications and applicable codes.
- Coordinate with QA/QC team for inspection and approval.
- Monitor welding quality, WPS/PQR compliance and welder qualification requirements.
- Coordinate NDT such as UT, RT, MPI/DPT and pressure testing.
- Maintain inspection records, test reports, material certificates and other project documentation.
G. HSE Management
- Ensure strict implementation of project HSE requirements.
- Coordinate with HSE team for PTW, toolbox talks, JSA/JHA and risk assessments.
- Ensure compliance during hot work, lifting, excavation, work at height, confined-space and hydrotesting activities.
- Stop unsafe work and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain safe working conditions for all employees and subcontractors.
H. Planning, Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily and weekly progress reports.
- Monitor planned vs. actual progress.
- Track material, manpower and equipment requirements.
- Prepare/coordinate material requisitions and site requirement statements.
- Maintain DPR, MOM, inspection status, testing records and work completion documentation.
- Support preparation of as-built drawings and final handover documentation.
3. Required Technical Knowledge
The candidate should have good working knowledge of:
- Oil/HSD pipeline installation
- MS/CS pipe fabrication and erection
- HSD storage tank fabrication and erection
- Piping isometric drawings
- P&ID and GA drawings
- Tank fabrication drawings
- Pipe supports and structural works
- Welding and NDT requirements
- Hydrotesting and commissioning
- Pumps, valves and piping accessories

- Tank gauging and level measurement systems
- Earthing and cable installation
- QA/QC and inspection procedures
- HSE requirements for oil & gas projects
4. Codes & Standards – Preferred Knowledge
Knowledge of applicable codes and standards such as:
- API 650 – Welded Storage Tanks
- API 653 – Tank Inspection/Repair
- API 570 – Piping Inspection
- ASME B31.3 / B31.4 – Piping
- ASME Section IX – Welding Qualification
- Relevant IS standards
- NFPA requirements applicable to petroleum/HSD facilities
- Client-specific engineering and HSE standards
5. Desired Skills

- Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of Primavera/MS Project will be an advantage.
6. Experience & Qualification
Essential:
- B.E./B.Tech. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 8 years of relevant site/project experience.
- Experience in Oil & Gas / Petroleum / HSD Storage / Pipeline / Tank Projects.
- Experience in multidisciplinary project execution.
Preferred:
- Experience handling complete site execution independently.
- Experience with major oil & gas/petroleum clients.
- Experience in tank farm, fuel storage, pipeline and associated E&I systems.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
