A fitter is a skilled tradesperson who fabricates, assembles, installs, and repairs structural components, machinery, or pipework. They work across manufacturing, construction, and repair industries by reading blueprints, utilizing hand and power tools, and performing essential maintenance to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Installation: Assemble, fit, and install mechanical systems, machinery, or pipework based on technical drawings and specifications.
- Maintenance & Repair: Conduct routine inspections, perform preventative maintenance, and troubleshoot system malfunctions to minimize equipment downtime.
- Fabrication: Use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to cut, shape, and modify metal or plastic parts.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished products or fabricated components to verify they meet precise size, thickness, and design tolerances.
- Safety & Compliance: Strictly adhere to health and safety regulations, such as ensuring safe work areas, wearing proper personal protective equipment (PPE), and following cGMP standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Blueprint Reading: Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, schematics, and project plans.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Strong understanding of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Technical Proficiencies: Competency in sawing, filing, marking, drilling, and basic welding or soldering.
- Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy loads, and work in physically demanding or industrial environments.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹20,000.00 per month
