A. Role Objective
To lead, manage, and build the complete DPR & Engineering Design vertical for water supply and
urban infrastructure projects, ensuring high technical accuracy, regulatory compliance, cost
optimization, and timely delivery.
B. Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
- Establish and develop the in-house DPR & Design Division
- Create department SOPs, templates, and standard workflows
- Build technical capability and mentor the engineering team
- Align design outputs with business growth strategy
2. Project Planning & Technical Oversight
- Lead preparation of DPRs for Water Supply Schemes and related infrastructure projects
- Oversee population forecasting, demand assessment, and hydraulic modelling
- Approve rising main design, distribution networks, ESR/UG sump design, WTP layouts
- Ensure adherence to CPHEEO and relevant government guidelines
3. Hydraulic & Engineering Design Supervision
- Review hydraulic modelling (Water Gems/EPANET)
- Validate pump sizing, head calculations, pressure zones
- Ensure optimal material selection (DI/HDPE/PVC etc.)
- Approve structural and electro-mechanical designs
4. Estimation & Cost Control
- Supervise BOQ preparation
- Ensure SoR compliance and rate analysis accuracy
- Review cost per MLD, cost per capita calculations
- Optimize design for cost efficiency without compromising standards
5. Tender & Bid Support
- Provide technical inputs for tender submissions
- Review compliance statements
- Handle pre-bid technical queries
- Support negotiation discussions
6. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all DPRs meet regulatory norms
- Implement design review checkpoints
- Maintain documentation standards
- Create internal technical audit mechanisms
7. Team Management
- Recruit and build technical team
- Conduct performance reviews
- Set KPIs for design engineers
- Develop training roadmap
C. Required Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred)
- 10–15 years of experience in water supply / urban infrastructure projects
- Proven experience in preparation of DPRs for government bodies
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic modelling tools
- Familiarity with CPHEEO, GWSSB, and state-level guidelines
- Experience in cost estimation and BOQ preparation
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
