- Study engineering drawings and design files shared by the R&D Division, and provide feedback to improve manufacturability and reduce costs
- Create manufacturing plans and timelines in conformance with the project timelines to ensure the timely execution of tasks
- Coordinate with inventory management to place orders for and track raw materials and after-market components required for prototyping and manufacturing against available stores
- Release finalised files for manufacturing and/or prototyping, and coordinate and negotiate with vendors
- Conduct inspections on manufactured and purchased items to maintain conformance to quality standards and specifications of the design
- Assembly of prototypes
- Testing of prototypes with the R&D Division
- Maintain vendor-wise track and records of all ongoing, pending and completed manufacturing against a BOM
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering / Manufacturing Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering
- Strong fundamentals and practical experience of manufacturing processes, such as TIG Welding, Laser Cutting, CNC and VMC machining, Rotomoulding, Injection Moulding, Electroplating, Surface Treatments and Coatings, etc.
- Understanding of Mechanical Designing concepts and CAD tools
- Hands-on experience with Engineering Drawings and GD&T
Technical Skills (Preferred):
- CAD software and tools, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc., familiarity with simulation tools is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Project and Planner or similar project management software
