Position Description: We are looking for an experienced Senior Symantec DLP Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate should be passionate about coding and developing scalable and high-performance applications. You will work closely with our front-end developers, designers, and other members of the team to deliver quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.
Your future duties and responsibilities
- Architecture Evaluation: Analyse the Symantec DLP internal architecture and proprietary communication protocols to determine the feasibility of third-party PKI certificate integration.
- Certificate Remediation: Replace vendor supplied default certificates with corporate PKI certificates to secure communication paths between decentralized DLP software components (e.g., Enforce Server, Detection Servers, and Indexers).
- Platform Administration: Provide advanced application support and engineering for the Symantec DLP platform during the migration phase.
- Technical Integration: Collaborate with the PKI and Core Infrastructure teams to ensure alignment with corporate certificate management standards, LDAPS, and secure network protocols.
- Testing & Validation: Conduct rigorous testing of component connectivity post certificate swap to ensure zero degradation in data protection capabilities.
- Documentation: Author comprehensive technical designs, implementation procedures, and operational runbooks to ensure a seamless transition to the permanent operations team.
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
Must-Have Skills:
- Symantec DLP Expertise: Specialist level knowledge of Symantec DLP internal architecture, component communication protocols, and configuration.
- PKI & Certificate Management: Deep technical expertise in Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), asymmetric encryption, certificate chain validation, and managing third party certificates within COTS enterprise systems.
- Protocols & Security: Strong understanding of secure communication protocols, TLS/SSL handshakes, LDAPS, and network security concepts.
- Platform Engineering: Proven experience administering and troubleshooting enterprise scale security platforms in a highly restricted corporate environment.
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Education Qualification: Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or higher with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
