In 1982, Dr. Dwarkadasji Lohiya laid the foundation of Marathwada Navnirman Lokayat (MANAVLOK), a voluntary organisation, working for the socio-economic upliftment of the rural poor in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra State in India. The organisation is working in the sectors of Watershed, Agriculture, Disaster Relief Services, Gender Equality, Elder and Disabled care, as an approach to integrated rural development.
Job Overview:
MANAVLOK is seeking a dedicated and passionate Agriculture Professional to join its agriculture program in Tuljapur, Dharashiv, Maharashtra. The role requires proven experience in field-based agricultural operations, farmer mobilization, livelihood promotion, implementation of sustainable agricultural practices, and exposure to agri-allied enterprises. The candidate should possess strong field management skills to ensure effective implementation of program activities at the project site.
The Agricultural Officer – Operations will be responsible for field monitoring, conducting technical trainings, strengthening farmers’ capacities, and overseeing site operations. The role involves data-driven assessments, timely documentation and reporting, and promoting appropriate agri-allied technologies and practices that enhance farmers’ livelihoods. This position is ideal for professionals who are passionate about grassroots development and committed to working closely with rural communities in a challenging field environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Farmer Capacity Building & Community Mobilization
Organize and facilitate capacity-building sessions for farmers on agri-allied enterprises such as seed production, apiculture, organic farming, market linkages, and value chain development. Mobilize farmers, strengthen community engagement, and promote active participation in program initiatives.
Demonstration Plots & Field Implementation
Implement and supervise on-site trials and demonstration plots to promote improved agricultural practices and ensure successful execution of agriculture demonstration activities.
Project Implementation, Monitoring & Reporting
Execute program activities in accordance with the project plan, track milestones and progress, collect field-level data, coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, and prepare timely progress reports
Site Management & Resource Coordination
Assist in site management by supporting procurement of agricultural inputs, managing field resources, ensuring logistical arrangements, and maintaining accurate documentation and operational records.
Team Coordination & Operational Support
Work closely with the Project Manager and field team members to ensure effective coordination, smooth program operations, and timely implementation of activities at the project site.
Eligibility Criteria:
Education:
● Graduate/Postgraduate in Agriculture.
Experience:
● Minimum 4–5 years of relevant professional experience in the agriculture sector, preferably within the development/NGO sector.
● Demonstrated experience in promoting agri-allied enterprises and implementing agriculture-based livelihood programs with farming communities.
● Willingness to work in a remote rural setting.
● Readiness to undertake extensive field travel and closely engage with farmers and community stakeholders.
Skills & Competencies:
● Knowledge or prior exposure to seed production and apiculture will be considered an added advantage.
● Strong understanding of agricultural field operations, soil management, best agricultural practices, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM).
● Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain strong relationships with rural communities.
● Commitment to work with farmers for livelihoods and grassroots development
● High Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
● Strong Communication Skills with rural communities and community mobilization abilities
● Mandatory Language Proficiency: Fluent in Marathi, Hindi and English (speaking, writing, typing).
Essential Requirements
Ownership of a two-wheeler with a valid driving license is mandatory due to extensive field mobility requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:
● Salary Range: ₹40,000 - ₹45,000 per month, depending on skills and experience.
