A production supervisor in a textile Open-End (OE) mill manages daily floor operations. Core responsibilities include coordinating spinning machine lines, ensuring sliver-to-yarn quality, minimizing raw material waste, scheduling shifts, and driving safety protocols.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Shift Planning & Execution: Assign tasks to machine operators, organize shift schedules, and ensure a smooth flow of materials like sliver, cans, and yarn packages.
- Machine Monitoring: Oversees OE (Open-End) spinning rotors, draw frames, and carding machines to ensure they are operating within standard parameters
- Quality Control: Conduct routine checks on yarn parameters like count, strength, and evenness. Ensure defective bobbins are removed and address trash/impurity issues in the sliver.
- Raw Material & Inventory: Oversee the proper feeding of input materials and manage waste levels (e.g., comber noil and pneumafil waste) to maximize raw material utilization.
- Workforce Management: Train and mentor floor operators, evaluate performance, and resolve labor disputes or attendance issues to maintain productivity.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce the usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) like masks and earplugs. Ensure fire safety protocols and hazard reporting are strictly followed near high-speed machinery.
- Reporting & Metrics: Compile detailed shift reports regarding production volume, downtime hours, and efficiency metrics.
- Process Optimization: Identify bottlenecks, improve line balancing, and implement lean practices to reduce waste and optimize Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
Pay: ₹20,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
