Job Overview
We are looking for an experienced and proactive Purchase Manager to oversee the procurement of solar equipment and related materials for our renewable energy projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for vendor management, strategic sourcing, procurement planning, cost optimization, and ensuring timely availability of materials to support project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end procurement activities for solar equipment, electrical components, and project materials.
- Source and evaluate suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors based on quality, pricing, delivery timelines, and reliability.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contractual agreements with vendors.
- Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate procurement schedules to avoid shortages or delays.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and key stakeholders.
- Compare quotations and conduct commercial evaluations to achieve cost-effective purchasing.
- Coordinate with engineering, project execution, stores, and finance teams for procurement planning.
- Track supplier performance and implement vendor improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with procurement procedures, quality standards, and project requirements.
- Maintain procurement records, contracts, and vendor databases.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in any discipline (Graduates from any stream may apply).
- Preference will be given to candidates with a degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) or a related engineering discipline.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.
- Prior experience in solar equipment procurement, renewable energy projects, electrical products, or EPC projects is highly preferred.
Required Skills
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Knowledge of solar PV components, electrical equipment, and procurement processes.
- Proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement software.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple procurement activities simultaneously.
- Strong commercial and cost-control mindset.
