Job Summary
An Accounts Assistant supports the finance and accounting department by handling day-to-day accounting tasks, maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with financial reporting. The role requires attention to detail, accuracy, and good organizational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and update financial records and accounting databases
- Process purchase invoices, sales invoices, and payments
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Reconcile bank statements and ledger accounts
- Prepare vouchers, expense reports, and petty cash records
- Support monthly and annual financial closing processes
- Assist in GST/TDS/VAT/tax-related documentation and filings
- Generate financial reports and spreadsheets
- Follow up on outstanding payments from customers
- Coordinate with vendors, clients, and internal departments
- Ensure compliance with company accounting policies and procedures
- Assist auditors during internal and external audits
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field
- Basic knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping
- Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting software such as Tally, QuickBooks, or ERP systems
- Good numerical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in accounting or finance support roles
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, payroll, and taxation processes
- Familiarity with ERP/accounting systems
Working Conditions
- Full-time office-based role
- May require occasional overtime during month-end or audit periods
Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
