Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented Calibration Engineer responsible for managing and performing calibration, verification, and maintenance of measuring and test equipment. The role involves maintaining instrument accuracy, traceability, calibration schedules, records, and compliance with applicable quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and carry out periodic calibration and verification of measuring and test equipment.
- Calibrate instruments such as pressure gauges, temperature instruments, electrical meters, dimensional instruments, weighing equipment, flow meters, and other measuring devices, depending on the required scope.
- Maintain the Calibration Master List and ensure calibration is completed within the specified due dates.
- Maintain proper identification, calibration status, traceability, and records of all instruments.
- Review calibration certificates and verify results against applicable specifications and standards.
- Prepare and maintain calibration reports, certificates, records, and supporting documentation.
- Identify out-of-tolerance (OOT) instruments and coordinate corrective action and impact assessment.
- Support root-cause analysis, CAPA, and troubleshooting related to measurement failures.
- Coordinate with QA/QC, Production, Maintenance, Engineering, and external calibration laboratories.
- Coordinate in-house and third-party/NABL-accredited calibration activities where applicable.
- Ensure calibration equipment and reference standards are properly maintained and traceable.
- Support internal, customer, and external audits with required calibration records and evidence.
- Maintain calibration procedures, work instructions, and relevant technical documentation.
- Monitor calibration KPIs, overdue instruments, failures, and recurring issues.
- Maintain electronic and physical records of calibration activities.
- Perform on-site calibration activities when required.
Qualification
- Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in:
- Instrumentation Engineering
- Electronics Engineering
- Electrical Engineering
- Mechanical Engineering
- Metrology or equivalent technical discipline.
Experience
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in calibration, metrology, instrumentation, quality, or manufacturing.
- Experience in shipyard, engineering, manufacturing, testing laboratory, or industrial environment is preferred.
- Experience with ISO/IEC 17025 and calibration laboratory practices is an advantage.
Required Skills
- Good knowledge of calibration and measurement principles.
- Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025 and measurement traceability.
- Ability to read technical specifications and instrument manuals.
- Knowledge of measurement uncertainty is an advantage.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willingness to travel for on-site calibration activities, if required.
Preferred Certifications
- ISO/IEC 17025 Internal Auditor
- NABL-related calibration laboratory training
- Calibration / Metrology certification
- Knowledge of Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and uncertainty calculation.
Pay: ₹18,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
