Job Purpose
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Accountant to oversee our daily financial operations, manage financial planning, and guide our core finance team. In this role, you will be responsible for everything from hands-on day-to-day accounting and cash flow optimization to high-level budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will blend strong analytical skills with the leadership needed to drive continuous process improvements and support cross-departmental decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
1. Budgeting, Forecasting & Financial Analysis
- Develop comprehensive annual budgets in close collaboration with department heads and senior management.
- Monitor budget performance, perform detailed variance analysis, and identify areas for cost optimization.
- Forecast future financial outcomes by analyzing historical organizational data and broader market trends.
- Conduct deep-dive financial analysis to guide long-term strategic planning and senior-level decision-making.
- Analyze critical financial data and performance indicators, focusing heavily on profitability, liquidity, and solvency.
- Provide clear insights into financial trends and recommend actionable strategies for business improvement.
2. Financial Reporting & Core Accounting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Ensure absolute accuracy, completeness, and strict compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Communicate financial performance, health, and results clearly to senior management and key stakeholders.
- Provide continuous financial guidance, reports, and data support to heads of other departments.
3. Cash Flow, Tax & Accounts Management
- Manage day-to-day cash flow by monitoring bank balances and executing accurate cash forecasts.
- Optimize working capital through the implementation of effective cash management strategies.
- Oversee accounts receivable by proactively following up on outstanding invoices and coordinating directly with clients for timely payments.
- Ensure full compliance with all relevant tax regulations and statutory filings (including income tax, sales tax, and payroll tax).
- Coordinate seamlessly with external tax advisors or consultants for strategic tax planning and implementation.
4. Financial Operations & Systems Control
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, ensuring flawless accounts payable/receivable cycles, payroll processing, and expense management.
- Implement and maintain robust internal financial controls and procedures to safeguard company assets.
- Evaluate, upgrade, and enhance existing financial systems to streamline workflows and improve operational efficiency.
- Recommend and deploy modern improvements to financial reporting and analytical tools.
5. Leadership & Stakeholder Management
- Lead, mentor, and manage the internal finance team, handling recruitment, onboarding, training, and ongoing performance management.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, high accountability, and professional development within the finance department.
- Build and maintain strong, productive professional relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
Job Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
- Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in cloud accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Zoho) and ERP systems.
- Expert-level knowledge of Microsoft Excel for financial modeling and variance reporting.
- Strong comprehension of domestic and international tax structures, payroll regulations, and accounting compliance principles.
- Soft Skills:
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for presenting complex financial metrics to non-financial managers.
- Strong negotiation and diplomacy skills for managing outstanding client collections and external banking relationships.
Pay: ₹40,000.00 - ₹50,000.00 per month
