Are you passionate about crafting robust embedded software that powers intelligent pump solutions used across the globe? Then join us in our mission to pioneer smarter solutions for moving and transforming water, reducing energy consumption, and enhancing quality of life for people.
As our new Senior Software Development Engineer, you will be designing, developing, and testing embedded software components in C for RTOS-based applications, working hands-on with communication protocols, low-level drivers, and hardware debugging across global agile teams. You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture, that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.
What you will be doing
As a key part of the Embedded Software Development team, you'll create impact by Developing reliable, high-quality embedded solutions that drive the next generation of Grundfos products, helping the world move water more sustainably and efficiently..
Your main responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and test embedded software in C, including low-level drivers and communication protocols (RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, Modbus) on RTOS platforms
- Perform hardware debugging using oscilloscopes, multimeters, and emulators while interpreting schematics to resolve complex issues
- Write and execute unit tests using frameworks like CPPUnit and support continuous integration pipelines with Jenkins
- Create and maintain high/low-level design documentation ensuring structured, modularized code
- Collaborate with global, cross-functional agile teams to analyze technical problems, challenge assumptions, and deliver elegant solutions
- Contribute to code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of development processes
What makes you a great fit
Above all, you are a hands-on embedded software engineer with deep expertise in C programming, RTOS environments, and hardware-level debugging, who thrives in collaborative agile settings and takes pride in writing clean, well-tested code. We would also imagine that you have:
- B.E./B.Tech or M.E./M.Tech in Electronics or related field with 8-12 years of embedded software development experience
- Strong proficiency in Embedded C, low-level driver development, and RTOS concepts (e.g., ThreadX)
- Hands-on experience with communication protocols (RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI, Modbus) and hardware debugging tools
- Experience with Git version control, unit testing frameworks, and agile development practices
It is a plus if you also:
- Experience with Renesas MCU architectures (RX, V850, RL78) and IAR Embedded Workbench
- Familiarity with Jenkins or similar CI tools and CPPUnit testing framework
- Strong written and oral English communication and presentation skills
