Job Summary
We Dezine Studio is seeking a creative and detail-oriented Junior Interior Designer with 3+ years of experience to develop innovative interior design solutions, manage client interactions, and support project execution from concept to completion. The ideal candidate should possess strong design skills, industry knowledge, and the ability to independently handle design projects while ensuring client satisfaction.
1. Industry Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of materials used in the interior industry, including furniture, lighting solutions, laminates, veneers, fabrics, paints, hardware, flooring, and finishes.
- Understanding of color theory, space planning, ergonomics, and current design trends.
- Continuously update knowledge of industry practices, materials, and design innovations.
2. Design Development & Execution
- Prepare furniture layouts, mood boards, concept presentations, and design proposals.
- Develop practical, aesthetic, and functional interior design solutions.
- Ensure designs align with project budgets and client expectations.
- Independently manage design projects with minimal supervision.
- Create and review technical drawings, working drawings, and design documentation.
- Coordinate with design support teams to ensure timely project completion.
3. Client Management & Satisfaction
- Understand client requirements and translate them into creative design concepts.
- Present design ideas, material selections, and space planning solutions to clients.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and referrals.
- Assist clients in selecting furniture, fixtures, lighting, and accessories.
- Act as the primary point of contact during the design phase.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, vendors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Conduct site visits during execution stages to ensure design intent is maintained.
4. Day-to-Day Operations Management
- Follow project timelines and company processes.
- Ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
- Work towards achieving project and business targets set by management.
- Adhere to the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain project documentation and design records.
5. Quality Control
- Ensure all designs meet company quality standards.
- Review technical drawings and specifications to eliminate design discrepancies.
- Verify design feasibility and execution readiness before project handover.
6. Communication & Collaboration
- Coordinate effectively with design, operations, and project execution teams.
- Provide timely updates regarding project status, design progress, and potential challenges.
- Participate actively in team meetings and project discussions.
- Ensure smooth knowledge transfer from design to execution teams.
7. Problem Solving
- Address design challenges and provide practical solutions.
- Resolve client concerns and project-related issues professionally.
- Support project teams in overcoming execution-related obstacles.
8. Workplace Etiquettes & Culture
- Follow company policies, punctuality standards, and professional conduct.
- Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Demonstrate ownership, accountability, and teamwork in all responsibilities.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in Residential or Commercial Interior Design.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, V-Ray, Photoshop, and MS Office.
- Strong space planning and material knowledge.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
