About the Role
Meraki Dezine is looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Architectural Draftsman to join our design team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate architectural and interior working drawings, construction documentation, and detailed design drawings based on the concepts developed by the project architects.
This role requires strong technical drafting skills, excellent knowledge of construction detailing, and the ability to work collaboratively with architects and consultants to deliver high-quality documentation for project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare architectural and interior working drawings, construction drawings, and detailed documentation using AutoCAD.
- Prepare Good for Construction (GFC) drawings with a high level of accuracy and consistency.
- Revise and update drawings based on design changes, consultant inputs, and site requirements.
- Coordinate with architects, consultants, and project teams to ensure drawings are technically accurate and complete.
- Ensure all drawings comply with project standards, building codes, and company drafting protocols.
- Maintain proper drawing registers, documentation, and version control throughout the project lifecycle.
- Assist in preparing area statements, schedules, and drawing issue packages.
- Support project teams during construction by incorporating site revisions and preparing as-built drawings when required.
- Ensure timely completion of drawing packages while maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Civil Engineering, Drafting Technology, or a related discipline.
- 2–3 + years of experience in architectural and interior drafting.
- Strong understanding of architectural drawings, construction methods, and detailing.
- Ability to interpret design concepts and convert them into accurate technical drawings.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD is mandatory.
- Good knowledge of architectural and interior construction detailing.
- Familiarity with SketchUp and MS Office will be an advantage.
- Basic knowledge of Revit or BIM workflows will be an added advantage.
- Understanding of drawing standards, layering systems, plotting, and document management.
Preferred Experience
Candidates with experience in healthcare, hospitality, commercial, or high-end residential projects will be preferred.
Experience preparing detailed GFC drawings and coordinating with consultants during execution will be an added advantage.
