Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Operator
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Plant Operation
- Operate pumps, blowers, valves, and control panels.
- Monitor treatment processes such as aeration, sedimentation, and filtration.
- Ensure smooth functioning of all STP units.
2. Monitoring & Testing
- Check parameters like pH, BOD, COD, and TSS.
- Collect water samples and coordinate lab testing.
- Ensure treated water meets required standards.
3. Maintenance
- Perform routine inspection of equipment.
- Identify leaks, blockages, or mechanical issues.
- Coordinate with technicians for repair and servicing.
4. Sludge Management
- Handle sludge removal and disposal.
- Maintain sludge drying beds or filter press systems.
5. Record Keeping
- Maintain logs of daily operations.
- Track chemical usage and test results.
- Keep compliance documentation updated.
6. Safety & Compliance
- Follow safety protocols and PPE usage.
- Ensure discharge meets regulatory standards.
- Adhere to pollution control guidelines.
7. Skills Required
- Basic knowledge of wastewater treatment processes.
- Understanding of pumps, motors, and electrical panels.
- Ability to read gauges and meters.
- Basic computer knowledge for reporting.
8. Qualification
- ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Environmental fields.
- Relevant work experience in STP operations is preferred.
9. Work Environment
- Residential apartments, hospitals, hotels, industrial plants, and commercial buildings.
10. Salary (India)
- Experienced: ₹15,000 – ₹18,000+ per month.
Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
